Since 2009, Iyad Malas has been the CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Group, the largest developer and operator of shopping malls and hypermarkets in the Middle East and North Africa. From 2007 – 2009, he was Chief Executive of Majid Al Futtaim Trust LLC, the family investment office of Majid Al Futtaim Group.

Previously, he was Regional Director for South Asia at International Finance Corporation (IFC), based in New Delhi, with responsibility for all IFC’s investments in all sectors of South Asian markets, including India.

Iyad joined IFC in 1987, investing in many emerging markets across a variety of regions and was Division Manager for Central Asia, Middle East and North Africa, before working in Egypt for four years. He was CEO of Fleming CIIC and then Chief Operating Officer and Head of Asset Management for EFG-Hermes, the Egyptian investment bank, from 2000 to 2004.
Educated at the American University in Beirut, he holds an MBA from George Washington University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Joyce Cornell Joyce Cornell

Ms Cornell is a private money manager who began her investment career at Warburg Pincus Counsellors in 1987. In 1991, she joined Scudder Kemper Investments where she became Managing Director and Global Equity Group Leader for Scudder’s Emerging Markets Equity Product. Under her management, the product grew from US$250 million to US$2 billion.

In 2002, Joyce became a member of the board of directors of the Oryx Fund and the MENA Admiral Fund. She has also served as Associate Dean and Director of Admissions for the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College and a master’s from Tufts University.

Omar Masri Omar Masri

Omar is a Managing Director at Edgo, a regional oil & gas group with operations in a number of countries in the Middle East and Africa in addition to a substantial base in North Rumaila, Iraq. Omar joined the Edgo Group in 2006, as Managing Director to expand the Group’s financial and infrastructure activities and launch oil-field service activities in Iraq. In 1996, he established and became Managing Director of Atlas Investment Group. Prior to that he worked for Foreign Colonial Asset Management in London, where he managed a USD 150 million fund investing across the Middle East and North Africa. He is Chairman of the Arab Palestinian Investment Bank and holds a BBA in Finance from The George Washington University in Washington DC, USA. Omar has been a member of the Young Presidents’ Organisation (YPO) for 12 years and was selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.

Mohamed Taymour Mohamed Taymour

Mohamed was founder and former Chairman of EFG-Hermes (1980-2005), the leading regional investment firm. Prior to founding EFG-Hermes, Mohamed was Head of Projects Division at the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development in Kuwait. He is Chairman of the Egyptian Capital Market Association, a board member of the Capital Market Authority and Vice Chairman of the Egyptian Centre for Economic Studies. He holds a doctorate degree in Systems Analysis from Dartmouth College in the USA and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Cairo University.
